Alcan - Anode Paste Plant, Rotary Valves and Slide Gates
Kitimat, B.C. – LEL designed the power supply for two replacement rotary feed valves for coke transport. The main feature was provision of a termination device for suppression of voltage spikes originating in the variable frequency drive. LEL designed the control for two new slide gates for these coke transport lines. The design consisted of open/close command, status feedback, local control, safety disconnect and mimic board indication, all of which were connected to the existing plant PLC.
